He had shot my best mate. I grabbed my gun and I shot the German. I shot him, I shot him and I shot him. The corporal came up to me and took the gun away from me. I fell to the ground and just sat there. Out of three hundred men on the boat seven of us survived and were on a beach full of dead body’s.


I can never get the horror out of my mind.
